Gillis making Luongo sit and watch Schneider may make him expand his list of teams beyond Florida?

I think the delay in signing lack was because lack may have wanted his shot, backing up whomever.

So wouldn't his signing mean that there's more reason to move luongo now since they have a capable backup?

Not really. It allows them to let lack play another year in the ahl if needed. While they see if Cory has what it takes. If Cory comes out strong then maybe a deal with Lou is made. But the question becomes are the other teams gonna wanna wait that long. It would also most def bring down the price tag on him. Or Cory flogs and is dealt to another team and Lou takes over again as a elite regular season goalie.

I think its already set in stone that luongo wants out. He wont say it directly but everyone knows it, its obvious.

Those that still spend hours arguing about these two teams and Luongo's value really have too much time on their hands. It's kind of sad

They but Gillis is gonna do everything he can to get the best value poss. Maybe he feels holding out until the season starts and some teams might have a major melt down in goal. He then would hit a home run for a deal. If Reimer folds out the gate or if something happens in Florida. Suddenly his value goes up.

Oh Mikey,

"Bluff"?

The best goaltender on the market, with the highest career save % in the NHL, one of the highest since they started keeping the stat.

3 time Vezina nominee. Jennings winner. One of only 10 goalies with 6 straight 30+ wins with one team.

There aint no bluffing here. He gets a good deal or goes to the other guy.

I am enjoying folks from back East running the guy down every chance they get though.

Carry on...

Cool story bro, but none of that changes:

A. Lu's age
B. Lu's contract structure
C. That Lu has a NTC
D. That having a $5.3m "back-up" sitting on your bench every night when your cup window appears to be closing and doesn't make a whole lot of sense
E. That Lu has already stated "that it's time to move on..."

For the CBA reasons alone, nobody is trading for Lu at this time.
